Excellence in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

 Call for Symposia Presentations

The Center for excellence in learning and teaching seeks proposals for presentation in the symposia on excellent models in teaching and learning from all disciplines.  The meeting will take place at the center, ANU new campus, 15th May 2013. The meeting aims at bringing together academics and researchers from various disciplines to share their experiences and the results of their experimentation with innovative teaching and learning models in higher education, to discuss the challenges encountered during implementation of these models, and to make recommendations on how to overcome the challenges.

Topics

Academics and educational leaders (individuals or in teams) are invited to submit presentation proposals in any of the following areas:

 Assessment models in teaching and learning

  1. Strategies for enhancing learner involvement in the learning and teaching processes.
  2. E-learning and blended learning applications
  3. Project and problem based learning

 We welcome submissions in any of these formats:

  1. Formal presentations: a 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of discussion.
  2. Interactive sessions: a short presentation followed by an interactive session or activity. The total time for this type is 60 minutes.

Abstract submission

Abstracts can be submitted online to [email protected]. The submitted abstract should highlight the proposed experiment and its elements along with the challenges and recommendations for other colleagues who may want to apply this new method.

 Please submit your abstract no later than March 1st 2013.

 Important dates:

Abstract submission: March 1st 2013

Notification of acceptance: April 1st 2013

Presentation schedule: May 1st 2013

Symposium date: May 15th 2013
