Symposium proposals on Innovations in Teaching and Learning

November through December
Purpose:
An-Najah Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence invites faculty from all disciplines to submit their complete applications for the implementation of new approaches to teaching, learning and course assessment. CELT provides fund for team applications that will run during the course of the Spring Semester, beginning February 2012 till May 2012.
Eligibility:
Symposium proposals on teaching innovations are available for university faculty members who wish to experiment or who have experimented with new ideas in teaching and assessment. Only An-Najah faculty working fulltime are eligible to apply for this Symposium.
Areas of excellence:
Potential recipients must submit an application which shows the plan, aims and objectives, proposed activities, time line for the proposed activities, major outcomes, and the estimated budget. The application should demonstrate applicants' outstanding contribution to teaching and learning in any of the following areas:
1. Effective curriculum or teaching techniques.
2. Connecting educational experience with professional practice in teaching and serving the community.
3. Commitment of meeting students' expectations and needs.
4. Integrating and using technology in teaching.
5. Any other area where the new approaches can have a widely felt impact.
Required documents:
Applicants are required to submit their completed application form together with an updated CV no later than December 15, 2011.

Alternatively, a hard copy can be submitted at the center offices in the new campus.
Review and evaluation
The applications will be reviewed by a committee of three members and applicants will be informed of the results by December 25, 2011.
