A delegation from the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at An-Najah University conducted a scientific visit to the Northwestern University in Evanston and Chicago, Illinois, United States. The delegation included Dr. Susan Arafat from the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Dr. Baker Abdul Haq from the Faculty of Information Technology, and Dr. Waleed Basha from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The visit targeted the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence at the Northwestern University where An-Najah’s delegation participated in a number of workshops that focused on modern teaching methods, in addition to lectures and meetings with a specialized teaching staff from the Faculties of Medicine, Science and Arts at Northwestern.
Dr. Arafat participated in workshops that addressed the integration of technology in teaching languages while Dr. Abdul Haq participated in workshops that focused on issues like distance learning and preparing scientific materials using the internet. Dr. Basha participated in workshops that discussed the societal participation in learning and the clinical evaluation for the students of medicine, as well as participating in the Nanomedicine conference and the ISSOTL conference which addressed the modern methods in teaching.
