The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Organizes a Workshop on the Redesign of Special Topics and Seminar Courses

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at An-Najah University organized a workshop on the redesign of the Seminar Course’s and the Special Topics Course’s Study Plans. The participants in the workshop represented 15 members of the teaching staff from the different faculties; the meeting was administered by Dr. Abdel Kareem Daraghmeh, Director of the CELT, Dr. Ra’ed Al-Koni from the Faculty of Science, in addition to Dr. Husam Azman and Munther Dwaikat from the Faculty of Engineering.

 


The workshop addressed subjects related to the nature of the course, teaching outputs, transferred skills, teaching methods and strategies, as well as course measurement and evaluation methods. On the next meeting which is scheduled to be organized on Wednesday, November 30, each participant will prepare and present a modified study plan for the Seminar Course and the Special Topics Course to the other participants.

 

  

 

On the next meeting also, the participants will discuss the problems, challenges and recommendations related to the implementation of the new study plans; recommendations will include improving the learning environment for the courses under study.
