Organizing a joint-workshop between the CELT and the Practical Training Center at An-Najah National University

Mon, 2012-01-30

The center for excellence in teaching and learning organized a two-hour workshop in coordination with the practical training center on Thursday 26/1/2012.

The participants were the practical training supervisors from the faculties of engineering, economics, media, science and information technology.

Professor Amer Hamouz spoke about the role of the Practical Training Center in organizing field training and building trust with the different local institutions in order to provide suitable training opportunities for the students from different study fields, in addition to establishing a special database for the host companies.

Moreover, Professor Hamouz explained the role of each of the parties related to the practical training process such as the field supervisor, the academic supervisor, the student, the Practical Training Center itself, the evaluation forms, among others.

Professor Hamouz also announced that the aforementioned forms will be electronically available for easy access to all the parties involved in the training process. The participants also discussed number of students for each supervisor and the teaching load to be assigned in accordance with the size of each group of trainers

The participants shared their comments and suggestions regarding the previously mentioned topics and thus the necessary changes were made to reflect the academic supervisors’ comments. The same topics will be on the agenda for discussion with the civic sector representatives in a meeting to be held within two weeks time.
