September 2015
An Introduction to Project-based learning
September 2015
The project based learning methodology has been commonly listed among the new methods which prepare learners with 21st century skills. The project based courses are designed in such away that the learners are given the opportunities to work in teams and/or with company tutors or community partners to design and implement project plans. They will also receive advice and coaching from teachers and tutors on how to deliver high quality projects. This workshop is the first one in a program of four modules which has been prepared to help teachers design, lead, and assess project-based learning courses. The two-hour workshop will introduce participants to the essential principles for project selection and integration in the course syllabus. Project characteristics, project activities and milestones, and project follow up plans will be presented and discussed using authentic examples collected from different programs around campus.

The facilitator will also share and explain team work follow up forms and team evaluation rubrics.
ILOs for Learner centered Education
December 2015
This workshop provides a roundtable discussion on how to redesign your course based on the learner-centered approach and where/ how to include high level cognition skills. After active discussion of ILOs, participants will practice redesigning ILOs and assessment methods on their own courses.
Interactive PowerPoints
December 2015
With the PowerPoint presentations becoming a common practice on campus, there is always the temptation to make the PowerPoint based class into yet another version of the traditional lecture where students’ participation is rather limited. This workshop is designed to provide participants with tools, tips, and strategies for making the PowerPoint based classes into more interactive sessions. The participants will be asked to practice the tools and tips they learn in this workshop on their own PowerPoints to make them into more learner centered experiences.
