Spring Semester Workshops 2014

1.     ILOs
18/02/2014

This workshop provides a roundtable discussion on how to redesign your course based on the learner-centered approach and where/ how to include high level cognition skills. After active discussion of ILOs, participants will practice redesigning ILOs and assessment methods on their own courses.

2.     New Assessment Methods

16/03/2014

Much curriculum upgrade effort on campus has been lately focused on integrating in the course plans a practical side along with the theoretical side.  The practice will help learners develop the necessary skills to translate the knowledge acquired by the learner into tangible course products.  Therefore, we feel it is important to train faculty members to measure and evaluate those skills using tools that are designed to measure learner performance. The main objective of this workshop is to train faculty members on using like portfolios, project evaluation schemes, presentation rubrics among others.

3.     Art of Leading Discussion

16/04/2014

In this workshop, we will view and analyze examples from good and bad practice in engaging students in discussions. We will name and define strength and weaknesses in both cases. We also will reflect on and share our own practices.
